About Paula
"I have been seeing Paula at Paula’s Therapies for several years now, and the difference she has made in my life has been remarkable. With her unique blend of Kinesiology, Reflexology, Bodywork, Reiki, and the Emotion & Body Code, she works on a level that feels both deeply intuitive and profoundly supportive.
Having experienced several bone and muscle injuries in the past, I’ve lived with ongoing mechanical issues in my body. I’ve also struggled at times with my emotional wellbeing and periods of low mood. Paula has an incredible ability to tune into what’s going on physically, emotionally, mentally, and even nutritionally. Her treatments consistently help me feel balanced, grounded, and more connected to myself.
Her compassion, understanding, and the care she brings to her work—whether with humans or animals—are truly special. I’m so grateful for the positive impact she’s had on my body and mind, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking gentle but powerful support on their healing journey."
To provide you with complete peace of mind, Paula is an accredited and registered member of the following professional organizations. This commitment ensures that she continually operates within recognized clinical guidelines and is bound by a strict, established code of ethics in all of her treatments.

Paula grew up in Zimbabwe, where her love of horses began early. She spent much of her childhood riding and competing, and that passion naturally evolved into a career working closely with horses. Over the years she went on to manage a large, successful stud farm in Mogambo—an experience that shaped her deep understanding of animal wellbeing and the quiet, intuitive ways humans and animals connect.
After one of her horses struggled to recover from a sinus operation—and with no clear medical solution in sight—she reached out, somewhat hesitantly, to a homeopathy practitioner for support. As part of her holistic approach, the therapist used a pendulum, a method entirely unfamiliar to Paula at the time.
To her surprise, the horse’s condition began to improve, and within a week her horse had made an extraordinary recovery. Witnessing such a shift opened Paula’s mind to the potential of gentle, complementary approaches and sparked a deep desire to learn more.
This curiosity led her to the pioneering work of Jack Ruddock, founder of Equine Touch. At that time, he was teaching his evolving interpretation of the Bowen Technique to a group of students in Zimbabwe. As his method developed, it took on a new identity—VHT—and this became the foundation of Paula’s own therapeutic training and the beginning of her lifelong commitment to supporting both animals and people through compassionate, hands‑on care.
A personal tragedy later led Paula to take a new path, bringing her to England to reconnect with her remaining family. Arriving with very few possessions and limited financial resources, she relied on the determination, inner strength, and extraordinary positivity that people still recognise in her today, to get 'Paula's Therapies' to where it is now.
Although originally trained in VHT for horses while living in Zimbabwe, Paula soon realised that this gentle, hands‑on approach could support people as well. She also believed that to truly make a difference, she needed more than one or two tools in the tool box, but rather a diverse set of therapeutic tools and subsequently gained qualifications in kinesiology, reflexology, reiki and the Emotion & Body Code. Her clients would argue that her personality makes up a significant part of that successful tool kit too!
That belief has shaped the last 25 years of her career. Paula’s unwavering positivity, her continued passion for helping people and genuine amazement at the changes she witnesses in her clients—both human and animal—remain at the heart of her work. Her journey stands as a testament to the commitment she made all those years ago: to help others with compassion, skill, and an open mind.
